Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Buyer/Planner with experience in medical device manufacturing environments to join our Operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing our supply chain and planning manufacturing builds to meet production and customer requirements.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for all purchasing activities, production planning, and inventory management
  • Manages supply chain activities, including sourcing, purchasing, planning, and scheduling the movement of raw materials, components, services, and finished goods through production and inventory processes
  • Establishes and maintains strong supplier relationships including communication and coordination to ensure accuracy in delivery dates and service
  • Identifies new prospective suppliers, evaluating multiple bid submissions, negotiating agreements, and evaluating supplier performance to optimize quality, service, and cost
  • Assists with maintaining Operational support activities, including purchasing of materials used in cleanroom assembly, maintenance, and facility management
  • Manages and updates the MRP system as necessary to maintain inventory and purchasing requirements
  • Supports delivery of Finished Goods globally by coordinating with International Distributors and Freight Forwarding Services
  • Plans in-house manufacturing activities based on sales forecasts and organizational needs while maintaining targeted inventory levels and cost goals
  • Participates in development of demand forecasts to understand and anticipate purchasing and manufacturing requirements and to implement risk mitigation activities to maintain operational performance
  • Support new and on-going Operational projects including new product development, cost reduction initiatives, and manufacturing transfer activities
  • Identify and implement Operational process improvements including cost reductions, inventory management, distribution activities, and operational excellence
  • Provide Operations team with Quarterly production plan and facilitate weekly review to obtain buy-in and agreement
  • Work closely and collaboratively with Sales & Marketing, Quality, Regulatory, Product Development, Document Control, and Finance to ensure business needs are met
  • Provide Senior Management with Operational reports related to inventory levels, production schedules, and Operational efficiency
  • Develop and implement Quality System Purchasing Policies and Procedures to meet company overall objectives and comply with QSR, ISO, and FDA regulations

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
  • Strong data analysis, data management, and quantitative skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to negotiate improved outcomes and understand contracts
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Detail-oriented with ability to connect to higher level organizational goals
  • Experience working in a regulated environment (medical or pharmaceutical)
  • Ability to anticipate and proactively mitigate risk
  • Self-directed with ability to get things done

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Minimum 2 or more years’ relevant experience in the medical device industry

Compensation:

  • Commensurate with skills, education, and experience
  • USGI Medical offers a benefit package consisting of healthcare and a 401(k) plan
  • Salary Range ($75,000-$95,000 DOE)

 

Physical Demands:

This position primarily works in an office environment. It requires frequent sitting, standing, and walking. Daily use of a computer and other computing and digital devices is required. May stand for extended periods when facilitating meetings or walking in the facilities. Some travel may be necessary. Lifting of objects may sometimes be required. Lifting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
