Flint Hills Resources in Corpus Christi, Texas is looking for a Senior Process Engineer (Chemicals). The Senior Process Engineer is a key member of the site Process Engineering Department and a critical support member of Business Teams. The process engineering team is dedicated to being the technical leaders that drive the highest value solutions for our partners. You will join a community of 30+ chemical engineers focused on troubleshooting, optimization, and design improvements of refinery units.

What You Will Do

• Build and expand your technical network internally and externally.
• Develop value creation ideas and perform economic analyses for units and technologies.
• Monitor long-term unit performance against industry benchmarks.
• Support the development of monitoring tools for chemical technologies (Reforming, Extraction, Xylenes, Cumene, Solvents).
• Audit performance reports and calculations.
• Review benchmark studies (Solomon, PTAI).
• Ensure projects meet business objectives technically.
• Mentor production engineers during troubleshooting and monitoring activities.
• Support high-profile troubleshooting as needed.
• Assist operations with experiment design and process guidelines.
• Manage process modeling programs, including building models with software like HYSYS.
• Support other physics-based modeling programs.
• Provide technical support for turnaround programs and scoping.
• Contribute to process safety and environmental performance through PHA, MOC, and investigations.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years of refining or chemical plant process engineering experience.
• Experience with Reforming, Extraction, Parex, Xylene Isomerization, Cumene units.

What Will Put You Ahead

• 15+ years of refinery experience.
• 5+ years of process engineering experience with chemical units.
• Experience leading projects in an oil refinery.
• Process modeling with Aspen HYSYS.
• Leadership in cross-functional teams.

This role requires obtaining a TWIC badge for access to the facility.
