COLTS NECK REFORMED CHURCH

ORGANIST

Qualifications:

• Must have a faith firmly grounded in Jesus Christ
• Undergraduate music degree required
• Professional training specifically in organ with knowledge of the instrument and its mechanics required
• Liturgical background with emphasis on Reformed Church music and liturgical traditions, highly desired.

Skills:

• Experience in accompanying congregational singing (to guide and support)
• Strong communication skills and commitment to teamwork
• Strong organizational skills
• Creativity, a blessing

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide organ music for weekly regularly scheduled worship services, in addition to Christmas Eve, Palm Sunday, Good Friday, Easter, hymn sings and occasional special services (weddings, funerals), including music selection and accompaniment
• Work closely with Music and Worship Arts Director for planning of musical selections
• Arrange with Music and Worship Arts Director for substitute organist as needed
• Participate in professional development experiences such as taking courses, attending conferences, workshops, etc.

 

Salary will be negotiated based on skills and experience.
